Actor Ayushmaan Khurrana has some rock-solid hits under his belts, which are varied and meaningful with their subject and content. The actor says slice of life and taboo films has become his identity.Ayushmann Khurrana opened his career with Vicky Donor, which was based on a sperm donor. Past that he has done films such as Dum Laga Ke Haisha, Bareilly Ki Barfi, Shubh Mangal Savdhan, Andhadhun, Badhaai Ho and Article 15, ranging from slice of life to socially dark dramas.Talking about his journey, Ayushmann said, “Doing slice of life and taboo breaking films has become my identity so, I think if you give something new to the audience, if you make them watch films based on taboo subjects and if you make them laugh in that process then there is nothing better than that”“And to get out of that zone, you have to do films like ‘Article 15’ and ‘Andhudun’. I want to work in every kind of genre but at the same time, I want t do it with new approach” said Ayushmann on the sidelines of Bala promotion in Mumbai. When asked Ayushmann which film he feels was the turning point of his career, he said, “Dum Laga Ke Haisha’ is actually the boon of life for me. After ‘Vicky Donor’ my three films didn’t work and after ‘Dum Laga Ke Haisha’ my career came back on track. It’s a very special film for me because it was more like an international film. It wasn’t a typical Hindi commercial film. It was very non-Yash Raj film produced by Yash Raj Films.”‘Bala’ is directed by Amar Kaushik and produced by Dinesh Vijan. It stars Ayushmann Khurrana, Yami Gautam, Bhumi Pednekar, Javed Jaffrey and Saurabh Shukla feature in key roles. The film will be theatrically released in India on 7 November 2019.
