State Vigilance Bureau today nabbed Junior Engineer (JE) of PSPCL red handed while accepting bribe of Rs. 20,000.Disclosing this an official spokesperson of the Vigilance Bureau said Paviter Singh JE posted at PSPCL Sub-division Beeja, Ludhiana district has been nabbed red handed on the complaint of Paramjeet Singh, resident of Guru Harkrishan Nagar, Malerkotla.The complaint has approached the VB and alleged that the above said JE was demanding Rs.50,000 for installation of his electricity meter but the deal was struck at Rs. 40,000. After verifying his information, a Vigilance team laid a trap and the accused JE arrested on the spot while accepting bribe of Rs. 20,000 as a first installment from the complainant in the presence of two official witnesses.He informed that a case under Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against the accused at VB police station Ludhiana and further investigation was under progress.
