Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Mr. Varinder Kumar Sharma and Commissioner of Police Gurpreet Singh Bhullar today paid obeisance at the Nagar kirtan flagged off from Gurdwara Isharpuri village Dheena to culminate at Gurdwara Sri Ber Sahib for commemorating the 550th parkash purab of Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji. Led  by Panj Piaras the nagar kirtan would culminate at holy city of Sultanpur Lodhi after passing through the prominent towns of Doaba region. Thousands of devotees imbued in religious fervor participated in this yatra to mark the parkash purab of Sr Guru Nanak Dev ji. Apart from the Deputy Commissioner and Commissioner of Police eminent religious leader Sant Baba Maan Singh Pehowa Wale also participated in the nagar kirtan.Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner and Commissioner of Police said that it was a historic occasion as all of us were celebrating the parkash purab of the great Guru, who had shown the path of love, compassion and harmony to the entire humanity. They said that all of us were very fortunate to have got the chance to be part of these celebrations during our lifetime. Both the officers called upon the people to follow the path shown by great Guru Sahib to the entire humanity.The Deputy Commissioner and Commissioner of Police said that it was a matter of great pride and satisfaction for all of us that the state government has made elaborate arrangements to facilitate the pilgrims in holy city to celebrate the parkash purab. They said that the Punjab government was committed to observe this occasion in an unsurpassed and befitting manner. They also exhorted the devotees to be a part of the mega event as a humble tribute to the great Guru sahib.On the occasion General Secretary of Punjab Press Club and eminent journalist Mr. Major Singh was also present.
