Bowing his head in reverence to the sacrifice of Police Martyrs, Deputy Commissioner Girish Dayalan today said that the nation will always remain indebted to these real heroes.Addressing the family members of Police Martyrs, Police officers and other dignitaries during the Police Martyrs Commemoration Day function here at District Administrative Complex, Chief Guest Mr. Dayalan exhorted each and everyone to firmly stand with the family members of the martyrs. "On this solemn occasion, let us vow to look after the families of these police martyrs as they have lost their member for our bright future", he emotionally uttered. He recalled the stellar role of the Punjab police in preserving the hard earned peace of the state besides safeguarding the unity and integrity of the country. He said that 35 Police officers and officials of the district Police have sacrificed their lives for maintaining peace and integrity and their supreme sacrifice would ever inspire the younger generation of Police officers/officials to sacrifice their lives at the altar of the motherland.

Interacting with media persons on the sidelines of the function, the Deputy Commissioner said that not only today, but whenever family members of police martyrs would come to us, their cases would be dealt on priority. Answering the queries of media persons, Senior Superintendent of Police SAS Nagar Mr. Kuldeep Singh Chahal also said that the Punjab Police would always remain indebted to its illustrious heroes, who brought laurels for the Police force through their gallantry deeds. Both the officers have listened to the grievances of the family members of the martyrs and assured them of early solution of their problems.On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner, SSP and other Police officers and family members also paid floral tributes to the martyrs. Earlier, the police party led by the commanding officer DSP (Traffic) Mr. Guriqbal Singh presented salutation by bowing their rifles and observed two-minute silence in respect of the martyrs. Superintendent of Police (Hqs.) Mr. Gursewak Singh Brar has read out the names of soldiers, who have laid their lives during previous year in the line of duty, as a mark of respect. The Chief Guest Mr. Daylan and SSP Mr. Chahal also honored the family members of martyred personnel.Prominent amongst others, who were present on the occasion included; SP (Investigation) Mr. Harmandeep Singh Hans, SP (Hqs.) Mr. Gursewak Singh Brar, SP (PBI, Organized Crime and Narcotics) Mr. Harbeer Singh Atwal, Sp (Traffic) Mr. Kesar Singh, Sp (City) Mr. Harwinder Singh Virk, DSP (Hqs) Mr. Deep Kamal, DSP (Technical Support and Forensic) Mr. Rajpal Singh Hundal, DSP (Cyber Crime) Mrs. Rupinderdeep Kaur Sohi and others.
