The Moga Police have observed the Police to pay tribute to martyrs in the police and the para-military during a district-level function organised at the police lines here on Monday  morning.Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Amarjit Singh Bajwa remembering the role of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the security of the common people paid  homage to them. Police officers including superintendent of police (SPs), deputy superintendent of police (DSPs), station house officers (SHOs) from the whole district have  participated in the function and saluted to the martyrs.During the event, 38 families of martyrs from the district were honoured by the SSP and other dignitaries. SSP has also  listened to the problems facing by the family members of martyrs and assured them to solve their problems on priority."The Police Commemoration Day has been observed every  year to re-assure the dependents of the martyrs that the Police Department and the Society would not only remain indebted to the sacrifices made by the police martyrs but would  also stand by them firmly,” Bajwa said.Narrating the historical importance of the Police Commemoration Day Parade, SSP Bajwa said that the Parade was observed by the police  of all the states and the Paramilitary forces throughout the country to pay tributes to the jawans of CRPF, who attained martyrdom on October 21, 1959, at Hot Springs (Laddakh)  during an assault by the Chinese Army. He also took a pledge to follow the path shown by the martyrs to maintain the unity and integration of the country.On the occasion, SP  Headquarters Rattan Singh Brar, DSP Headquarters Kuljinder Singh, DSP Special Branch and Criminal Intelligence Harpinder Kaur, DSP Criminal Groups Ravinder Singh, DSP City  Paramjit Singh, DSP Dharamkot Yadwinder Singh, DSP Baghapurana Kesar Singh, District Attorney Legal Lakhbir Singh, District head of GoG Colonel (retd) Balkar Singh and  Retired SP cum Punjab Police Pensioners Association President Balvir Singh Khaira among other dignitaries were present.
