MLA Navtej Singh Cheema, top bureaucrats of civil and Police administration today reviewed the preparations for commemorating 550th parkash purab of Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji in an unsurpassed manner.Principal secretary tourism and cultural affairs Mr. Vikas Partap , Principal Secretary PWD Mr. Husan lal , special principal secretary to the Chief Minister Mr. Gurkirat Kirpal Singh, IG Naunihal Singh and Deputy Commissioner Mr DPS Kharbanda along with MLA Mr Navtej Singh Cheema today visited the all parking sites , Bus stand , main pandal , tent cities and helipads at village Busowal and machijoya. During the visit they reviewed the ongoing work on these projects and asked the officers to further expedite the pace of work.They reviewed the ongoing work in key projects including Two foot bridges on holy bein , two high level bridges , bus stand , PWD rest house, two pantoon bridges and others which were being constructed in the city to facilitate the pilgrims.Earlier in the meeting they asked the officials of PSPCL and water supply to ensure power and water supply to all langar sites till Tuesday as large number of pilgrims have already starts visiting the holy city .
They also asked the all departments to use alternative route to supply raw material for various works during 550th functions so as to avoid any sort of inconvenience to the devotees. The route has been constructed by the Punjab police on the back side of Gurdwara Shri Ber sahib , which further connects to the Makhu/Zira highway They also asked the officials of fire control and local bodies to hire the services of National fire college , Nagpur to conduct audit for fire control measures at all three tent cities , nine parkings , 37 langars and Main pandal . Meanwhile, the Deputy commissioner assured the Principal secretaries that the district administration has made elaborate arrangements for commemorating the 550th parkash purab of Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji in an unsurpassed manner adding that all the arrangements would be put in place in coming two days .Prominent amongst present on the occasion included ADC Rahul chabha ,ADC (D) Avtar Singh bhullar , chief engineer PWD JS Mann, SDM Dr. Charumita, PCS swati tiwana , Kulwinder Johal Joint commissioner MC Jal , OSD for 550th Gurpurab celebrations Navneet Kaur Bal, XEN varinder Sharma, XEN ajit Singh and officials of various departments.
