The Jails Minister Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa today conducted a surprise check at the Central Jail Gurdaspur and heard the grievances of the inmates besides taking stock of the security arrangements. The minister visited several barracks and interacted with the inmates lodged there. He directed the jail officials to maintain cleanliness inside the barracks, provide medical facilities to the inmates with check ups at regular intervals apart from ensuring hygienic conditions in the washrooms. S. Randhawa also visited the women's barrack and was apprised about the stitching and training with regard to other vocations being provided to them. He also paid a visit to the mobile ATM at the women's ward where the female inmates use phone within a fixed time frame.Among others present on the occasion included IG Border Range Sri Amritsar Mr. SPS Parmar, Deputy Commissioner Gurdaspur Mr. Vipul Ujjwal, SSP Gurdaspur Mr. Swarandeep Singh and Jail Superintendent Gurdaspur Mr. Balkar Singh Bhullar.c
