Divisional Commissioner, Sanjeev Verma, today reviewed implementation of health and medical assistance schemes in Jammu division at a meeting with concerned officers.The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Sushma Chauhan, Joint Director Education, Latif Chaudhary, Deputy Director Health, Dr Renu Sharma, STO Jammu, Dr Sanjay Turki, Secretary Red Cross Society, Dinesh Gupta besides senior functionaries of Social Welfare, National Health Mission and other concerned while other Deputy Commissioners of Jammu Division along with other concerned officers attended the meeting through video conferencing.The Div Com took stock of implementation of Revised National Tuberculosis Control Program (RNTCP), Nikshay Mission, Rashtriya Bal  Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK)  and other related schemes. The concerned officers apprised the Div Com of total number of schools visited and number of children found positive for identified health conditions in all districts of the division.It was informed in the meeting that RBSK is a new initiative aimed at screening of children from 0 to 18 years for 4 Ds - Defects at birth, Diseases, Deficiencies and Development Delays including Disabilities. Children diagnosed with illnesses shall receive follow up including surgeries at tertiary level, free of cost under NRHM.

Besides, a total of 3854 Schools and 6215 Anganwari centres have been visited from April to September 2019 by team of ISM Doctors while 462043 beneficiaries were screened and 30613 children were found positive for identified health conditions in Jammu division, of which, 25582 children were provided the services and referred to concerned Community Health Centres /District Hospitals/Tertiary Care Institutions for treatment.The concerned officers also apprised the Div Com of total number of children treated outside the state and number of children/ patients were given financial assistance in all the districts.The Div Com stressed on reaching out to all patients requiring treatment for any life threatening disease. He asked the concerned officers to dedicate special wards for treatment of Disseminated Intravascular Coagulation (DIC) in the hospitals.The Div Com also exhorted upon the concerned authorities for organising special medical camps for screening of patients especially those belonging to remote and far off areas of the region.
