Advisor to Governor, Kewal Kumar Sharma today met scores of public delegations and individuals who apprised him about their issues and demands here at weekly public hearing programme.For many issues projected by the public, the Advisor issued on-the-spot directions to the concerned departments.Over 350 people, comprising several delegations and individuals, hailing from different areas of Jammu region, registered their issues and demands pertaining to Public Works (R&B), PHE/I&FC, Power Development, Finance, Housing & Urban Development and Science & Technology and other departments. They also raised several other issues of public importance and developmental issues and sought Advisor’s intervention in ensuring redress of the same at the earliest.A deputation of Confederation of Indian Industry apprised the Advisor about various issues which need to be addressed for the holistic development of Industry in J&K. Their demands mainly include better industrial package for J&K Industry, extension of dates for filing all income tax and GST Returns both for audit and non audit cases, Hazardous waste dumping ground for J&K Industries, extension of Mumbai-Amritsar freight corridor upto Kathua, release of payments to the MSME Units of J&K for the items supplied to the power Development Department for the implementation of Saubhagya Scheme and various others.A delegation of Durga Nagar Welfare Committee raised the issue of water supply, on which, the Advisor directed the PHE to prepare an action plan to augment water supply to the area.All Jammu Hotels and Lodges Association led by its Chairman, Inderjeet Khajuria and President, Pawan Gupta raised the issue related to work taken up by NBCC for providing sewerage connection to the household and hotels and lodges in Jammu East to connect them with common STP in Bhagwati Nagar. 

The Advisor directed the concerned for ensuring acceleration of the work.A delegation of Retired employees of Jammu Central Cooperative Bank Ltd raised the issue of payment of their dues. The Advisor instructed the MD to look into the matter and also convened a board meeting to review the bank’s working.A deputation led by Vikram Randhawa apprised the Advisor regarding various issues of people residing in Sainik Colony, particularly commercial use of residential houses in the area.JMC Councillor Ward no.73, Prof. (Dr) Youdhvir Singh and Councilor, Ward no. 48 , Sham Lal submitted a memorandum of demands related to development of their wards.Sarpanch Amb Lower, Jaswant Singh raised the issue related to  beautification of historic pond Tersa Talab at village Dharma Khu. The Advisor instructed the RDD to examine the restoration of pond under RDD schemes.Shri Maha Ganesh Sabha Trust Frisal demanded allotment of land in vicinity of Jammu for social activity. The Advisor asked the VC JDA to examine the matter as per JDA policies.A deputation of J&K Casual Labourers Union, PDD Jammu province projected the demands related to release of wages and regularization of their services.A delegation of ITI Skilled Workers (PHE) sought the release of their pending salaries. The Advisor asked the concerned department to look into the matter.

Another deputation of All Jammu and Kashmir Pensioners & Civil Society Association Jammu led by its President S. Ajit Singh Adyal presented memorandum of demands related to J&K State Pensioners and Family Pensioners.A deputation of Aspirants of PO and Banking Associates of J&K Bank sought early release of selection list.A delegation of Shri Raghunath ji Sewa Samiti (J&K) projected demands related to Temples and Shrine bill.A deputation of J&K Accounts Employees Association projected the demands pertaining to promotion of members of J&K Accounts Service and pay parity of Assistant Account Officers.Residents of villages- Bhadur Khan, Kotli Charkan, Phinder and Deoli demanded macadamization of the roads leading to Kotli to Deoli and Bhadur Khan to Satsang Ghar, Bishnah.A deputation of Sunrise Educational Trust demanded allotment of land to the trust.Several other delegations and individuals also met the Advisor and registered their issues and demands.Advisor Sharma gave a patient hearing to the demands put forth by the people who turned up in large number for the public hearing and assured them that all their genuine issues would be examined for the redressal.On being apprised by several delegations regarding complaints of pot-holes in their localities, the Advisor directed the concerned to repair the pot-holes to avoid inconvenience to the people. He further instructed the JDA to ensure sufficient water and electricity supply in their colonies.Mayor, JMC, Chander Mohan Gupta besides senior functionaries of the concerned departments were also present at the public hearing.
