“All the development projects being carried out by the Local Bodies Department at Sultanpur Lodhi in connection with the celebration of 550th Parkash Purab of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji has been completed. With this Local Bodies Department has become the first Government Department which has completed all the infrastructural development projects within its stipulated time frame.” It was disclosed by Mr. Brahm Mohindra, Local Bodies Minister in a press communiqué released here today. He said that the department had been successful in completing this herculean task in short span of time under the able guidance of Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh and timely release of funds by the Finance Department.While providing detail of major works carried out at Sultanpur Lodhi by the Department of Local Bodies, Mr. Brahm Mohindra said that all the internal roads of this historic city were recarpetted and all the exiting 1750 street lights in the city were replaced with LED lights whereas 350 new LED streets lights had also been put up across the city. He said that 16 meter high mast LED lights had also been put up at 8 main chownks (junction points). He said that 20 ultra modern permanent Ladies and Gents toilets had been constructed. Similarly the berms alongside all the city roads had been covered with interlocking paver block tiles for the smooth movement of the pilgrims. He said in order to maintain the cleanliness in the city 2340 main dustbins had been placed at Langer, Parking and other sites. He said that 4350 sweepers, sewer men and trolley men had also been deputed who would be pressed into service during the celebrations. Mr. Brahm Mohindra said that the department of Local Government would be taking care of Solid Waste Management in all 15 sectors i.e within and outside Municipal limit. He said that the department had already hired a company M/s Krystal Integrated Pvt. Ltd, Mumbai for supply of manpower for Solid Waste Management. He said that this company would make effective arrangements for solid waste management within and outside Municipal limits for parking areas, Langar Sites, all roads and Tent SitesThe Local Bodies Minister said that Sultanpur Lodhi had been divided into 15 sectors. He said that 4 Joints Deputy Directors of the Local Bodies Department had been deputed as Sub Nodal Officers and each Nodal Officer would be Sub Nodal Officer for 3 sectors.  Further for every sector and Executive Officer had been deputed as Sector Officer for each sector. He said that each sector officer would be available round the clock to redress any complaint immediately. He said that separate teams had been deployed to look after the street light and sewer maintenance works. “For the convenience of the pilgrims the Local Bodies Department had also put up signages across the city. “he added.
