To ensure hassle-free, smooth and speedy procurement of paddy, Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Tuesday, reviewed the procurement arrangements of the district, at Killi Chahal village here.The meeting was attended by the MLA Moga Dr Harjot Kamal, Deputy Commissioner Moga Sandeep Hans and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Moga Amarjit Singh Bajwa.While addressing the meeting, the Chief Minister reiterated his Government’s firm commitment to lift every single grain of the farmers’ produce from the grain markets, in a smooth, prompt and hassle-free manner, while strictly adhering to the prescribed norms of timely payment. Chief Minister also directed officials to ensure hassle-free, smooth and timely procurement of paddy crop from the grain markets in the district.Deputy Commissioner Sandeep Hans apprised the Chief Minister that all the necessary arrangements to smoothly procure the paddy have been made in all the grain markets of the district. He also assured that the paddy crop arriving in the grain markets is being procured and lifted within the time fixed by the government.Deputy Commissioner informed that till Monday evening, 15,397 metric tonne crop arrived in the district grain markets, of which 13,378 metric tonne crop was already purchased by the agencies. He informed that of the total purchased crop, about 5,232 metric tonne crop has been lifted.In the meeting, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC General) Anita Darshi, ADC Development Subash Chandar, Sub-divisional magistrate (SDM) Moga Narinder Singh Dhaliwal and District Food and Supply Controller Major Gurpreet Singh Kang among other officials were present.
