Kifayat Hussain Rizvi, Honorary General Secretary, Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) -J&K, met Governor Satya Pal Malik, President of the IRCS -J&K, at the Raj Bhavan here today.Sh. Rizvi submitted Activity Report of the Red Cross for the year 2019-20 and informed that during this period it has organised 8 First Aid Training programmes; 8 blood donation camps; 2,650 patients were provided free medical consultation and medicines were given at a medical camp in Kashmir; distributed an amount of Rs.1,11,700 as cash relief among 11 beneficiaries suffering from medical complications, and to  the fire, road accidents and cross border firing victims. Further the Red Cross has released share of voluntary contribution to the 22 District Red Cross units of J&K and Ladakh.Governor stressed the high importance of training in first aid and other life saving techniques being imparted to the largest number of volunteers in the districts to meet any emergent situation and directed Sh. Rizvi to distribute blankets to the needy during this winter season.
