District Development Commissioner, Udhampur Dr. Piyush Singla today reviewed the progress on Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) projects here at  a  meeting of  officers the concerned department.Road wise detailed review was conducted where all the issue faced during execution were discussed and resolved on spot.At the outset, SE PMGSY, Manzoor Ahmed gave power point presentation on various developmental projects being executed in PMGSY sector in the district.The DDC directed the concerned authorities to expedite the work and achieve the targets set by the Government as per the timeline. He directed forest authorities and PMGSY Engineers to conduct joint survey of the road projects which require forest clearance and submit the report to the authorities within three days.The DDC further asked the concerned to submit report of non-performing contractors so that strict action including black listing and termination of contract can be initiated against the defaulters.Sub division wise targets and achievements were also discussed and the concerned AEEs were asked to speed up the progress of work. Chef Engineers also asked the engineers to expedite work of black topping.The DDC asked the PMGSY to submit   road wise weekly progress report to his office, resolve the issues involved, if any, and provide land to the contractors free from all encumbrances for execution of works. The Chief Engineer PMGSY Er. Des Raj Bhagat thanked DDC for extending support for implementation of PMGSY schemes and resolving the issues. He said that targets for the month of October have been set for all sub Divisions of PMGSY.Among others present in the meeting were Chief Planning Officer, Rajeev Bhushan, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Vikar Giri, DFO Udhampur, Shaivata Jandial, Executive Engineer PMGSY, besides representatives of forest division Jammu, Ramnagar and Reasi.
