Setting the stage for 550th Prakash Purb celebrations of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the Punjab Tourism and Cultural Affairs Minister Charanjit Singh Channi and Health & Family Welfare Minister Balbir Singh Sidhu today inaugurated the specially designed Light and Sound Show-cum-Digital Museum vibrantly showcasing iconic events related with the life and times of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji including Udassis beginning from Sultanpur Lodhi besides anecdotes and interpretative discourses contained in Janamsaakhis.Launching the 4-month elaborate schedule of soulful and mesmerizing events including immersive Light and Sound Show, first presentation of which was attended by both the ministers underlines Guru Sahib’s tenets of religious tolerance and assimilation which are the only recourse for humanity to ensure a prosperous future. The captivating lyrical presentation woven around rich tapestry of events would echo the message of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji across the length and breadth of state covering 26 locations including all district headquarters, three historic towns of Sultanpur Lodhi, Dera Baba Nanak and Batala including Chandigarh.Terming it as laudable endeavour involving technology to further disseminate the teachings of Guru Sahib, the ministers urged for imbibing the philosophy of universal acceptance and assimilation of cultures in the present polarized atmosphere. The carefully designed set of programmes were imbued with Guru Sahib’s concern for water, air and land conservation in line with his philosophy, the ministers noted while announcing that first of its kind floating multimedia light and sound shows which would also be organized on banks of river Sutlej and Beas covering 16 locations beginning October 17 until the end of November this year.
Charanjit Singh Channi said that path shown by Guru Sahib in liberating society entangled in orthodoxy would always remain a benchmark for the humanity in its fight against social ills. He also urged all the leaders of different political parties to rise above the party lines and celebrate the spiritual function on one platform with fervour.Mr. Balbir Singh Sidhu said that the Punjab Chief Minster Captain Amarinder Singh is personally monitoring the 550th Prakash Purb celebrations, which are being held across the state. He said that it is an honour to be blessed to witness this sacred occasion in our lifetime and the occasion would be celebrated in a grand fashion.An array of technological advancements involving Large Format Display screens, RFID headphones and cutting edge technology would provide soulful experience to devotees visiting the digital museum, which would remain open from 6:30 AM until 6:00 PM daily at different locations across the state beginning from Mohali and culminating at Amritsar on 10th of February, 2020.The 45-minute Light and Sound extravaganza, a symphony of colourful visual projections punctuated by engaging soundtrack, mystically unraveled into a multiple part story enunciating principles of peace, communal harmony, environment conservation and women empowerment close to Guru Sahib’s heart. Spiritual travel will engulf the state now onwards
After Mohali, the show would travel to Ludhiana from 11 to 13 October to be organized at city PAU grounds, reaching Jalandhar (15 to 17 October) to Moga from 19 to 21 October leading to Kapurthala between from 23 to 25 October. During the period of main event, the light and sound show would enthrall devotees at historic towns of Sultanpur Lodhi, Batala and Dera Baba Nanak from 1st of November till 11th of November. From here the show would move to Pathankot city (13-15 November) leading to Roshan Maidan Hoshiarpur (21-23 November), Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar (25-27 November), Rupnagar (November 29-December 1), Chandigarh (3 to 5 December), Fatehgarh Sahib (7 To 9 December), Patiala (11 to 13 December), Sangrur (15 to 17 December), Barnala (19 to 21 December), Mansa (23 to 25 December), Bathinda (15 to 17 January 2020), Sri Muktsar Sahib (19 to 21 January), Fazilka (23 to 25 January), Faridkot (27 to 29 January), Firozpur January 31 to 2 February), Tarn Taran (4 to 6 February) and Amritsar from February 8 till 10.
