On Day 5 of the ongoing Navratra Festival 2019, Deputy Mayor Jammu Municipal Corporation, Poornima Sharma, inaugurated the Shobha Yatra from Hotel Continent Panchvat.The day witnessed colourful presentations by the artists of Regional Outreach Bureau and local organisations. Cultural items including folk dances like Silambam of Tamil Nadu, Deep Nati of Himachal Pradesh, different forms of Kud dance of Jammu region and various tableaus were part of the shobha yatra. The tablues included scenes from Hindu religious texts like Mahabharat and Ramayan.In her address, the Deputy Mayor lauded the event organisors and appreciated the artists for coming from distant parts of India to perform in this annual religious carnival.Pertinently, various cultural programmes are also being presented by the artists of ROB and local school kids at Government Higher Secondary School, Katra. Besides, an exhibition on life and history of Mahatma Gandhi with digital elements like touch screens, digital bioscopes and 3D glasses has also been set up to introduce the people with life and works of Mahatma Gandhi by Jammu wing of the Regional Outreach Bureau at the same venue.
