District Development Commissioner, Mohammad Aijaz Asad, chaired a meeting to chalk out strategy for implementation of Gram Panchayat Development Plan (GPDP) in the district.Threadbare discussion was held regarding execution of Gram Panchayat Development Plan to achieve development on ground level in rural areas of the district.DDC, while addressing the meeting, directed the concerned officers of line departments to appoint their frontline workers for making Gram Sabha plans inclusive and effective. “GPDP is an annual plan of each Panchayat where the gram sabhas would decide where the money should be spent depending upon the resources available”, he added. He further said that it is also an intensive and structured exercise for planning at Gram Sabha level through convergence between Panchayat Raj Institutions and concerned departments.
District Panchayat Officer said that Gram panchayats have been mandated for the preparation of GPDP for economic development of panchayats. He informed that the people’s plan campaign have been rolled out as Sabki Yojana Sabka Vikas from 2nd October to 31st December 2019. He briefed that the month of October has been kept for trainings only while from Ist of November to 31st December special Gram sabhas will be held for preparing GPDP for the financial year 2010-21.Regarding Mission Antyodaya, DPO informed that there are 142 indicators of Antyodaya and said that the data required to fill up the antyodaya portal is similar to the data collected during Back to Village programme.Chief planning officer, Assistant Commissioner Development, Sushil Khajuria, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Mohd Ashraf, SE PHE and I&FC, Muneesh Bhat, Chief Horticulture Officer, Rakesh Kotwal, Executive Engineer PWD, Rajouri and Nowshera, District Panchayat Officer, Dr Abdul Khabir and other concerned district officers and officials were present in the meeting.
