The demand for wireless talkies in Srinagar has picked up in the wake of continuous mobile phone services and internet gag.According to wire service—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the demand for the wireless devices are running high in valley due to the ongoing communication gag. People are buying these devices only for their personal use in order to stay connected with their near and dear ones. According to buyers, they can speak to their dear ones who live within the radius of ten kilometers. It’s pertinent to mention that the communication block-down (excluding landline phones) is about to enter into the third month causing huge inconvenience to the people of Kashmir. The prices of the devices starts from Rs. 2000 to Rs.9000, depending upon the range of coverage area.A seller based in Srinagar wishing anonymity said that,” The wireless devices are selling like hot cakes nowadays as the ongoing communication gag has left most of the people disconnected from their loved ones.”He told KNO that people found these devices as an alternate of cellular connectivity which stands barred in the valley. He further added,” These devices are not full-fledged wireless and did not pose any threat to security in the region as the usage is merely based on personal.”Adil Ashraf, a user of the wireless talkie device told KNO that,” I purchased this device to stay connected with my girlfriend who lives in our neighborhood, as I have been trying several things before but this wireless talkie proved very convenient for both of us.”He told KNO that he tried various things before like some android applications P2P, Talkie, etc. but nothing worked well as the wireless talkie device. He further added,” The device works like a cellphone on which we can plug in the earphones and use it conveniently without letting anyone know what actually we are using.”  (KNO)
