Punjab Government is striving to create and provide job opportunities to it's youth by organising job festivals, imparting skill and exploring new areas for employment. A seminar was organized in Chitkara University on the day of World Tourism Day where experts spoke about the job opportunities in tourism sector and challenges being faced by the tourism and hospitality sectors. In the seminar about 100 students participated who were informed about the opportunities available in the tourism and hospitality sector. In the seminar, senior officers from the Tourism Department also addressed the students. Apart from providing them information about the opportunities they were also informed about the different tourism products in Punjab. They were informed about the importance of travel and tourism and were called upon to undertake tours to understand the rich cultural and natural heritage of Punjab.On this occasion, craft stalls were also put up in which different handicraft products made by the Self Help Groups associated with the Tourism Department were displayed. The students took keen interest in these handicraft products and also purchased the articles. The students were also distributed the printed material on tourism in the publicity van where students got information about various tourism attractions in the State.
