Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur today announced sops worth Rs. 70.85 crore to the people of Bhatiyat assembly constituency in Chamba district by performing bhumi pujans of various projects to people through video conferencing from Shimla as he could not attend the function slated to be held at Chowari due to inclement weather.

While addressing the public meeting through video conferencing, Chief Minister said that priority of the Government was to ensure equitable and balanced development of the State with special focus on those areas which had remained neglected so far due to one reason or others. He said that the government was giving special impetus for the development of Bhatiyat assembly constituency.Jai Ram Thakur thanked the people of  Bhatiyat assembly constituency for giving massive lead to BJP candidate in parliamentary elections. He said that Bikram Singh Jaryal always raises the problems and various developmental demands of the area with him, which showed his concern for welfare of the people of his Assembly constituency.The Chief Minister said that the main focus of the State Government from the day one of assuming office was to ensure that the issues, problems and grievances of the general public were redressed at the earliest and in a time bound manner.Jai Ram  Thakur also  laid foundation stones of ITI building at Garnota to be constructed at a cost of Rs. 5.34 crore and sewerage system of Nagar Panchayat Chowari to be built by spending Rs. 19.19 crore. 

He performed bhumi pujans of link road Dharta Mour to Naloh, stage-II to be constructed at a cost of Rs. 2.36 crore, upgradation of Dramnallah to Rajain road at a cost of  Rs. 5.07 crore, upgradation of Patka to Dalhousie road to be built with an outlay of Rs. 30.46 crore, Mandrihar to Fagot road, stage-II to be constructed at a cost of Rs. 3.33 crore and link road from Dhundiara to Kehlu, stage-II to be constructed at a cost of Rs. 1.33 crore.  He also performed bhumi pujan of Garnota- Bhont road to be constructed at a cost of Rs. 3.77 crore.MLA Bhattiyat Bikram Singh Jaryal from Chowari thanked the Chief Minister for performing bhumi pujans of various projects in his Assembly segment. He said that after completion of these projects, people of the area would be benefitted immensely. He also thanked Chief Minister for evincing keen interest in speedy development of his area during last 20 months. He provided sanction letters to five beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna, FDR to 19 beneficiaries of ‘Beti Hai Anmol Yojna’, house construction grant to two beneficiaries, sewing machines to three beneficiaries and free gas connections to 15 beneficiaries under the ‘Himachal Grihini Suvidha Yojna’ on behalf of the Chief Minister on this occasion.Deputy Speaker, Vidhan Sabha Hans Raj, MLA Rakesh Pathania, District BJP President D.D. Thakur, Mandal BJP President Chuni Lal, Deputy Commissioner Chamba Vivek Bhatia, Superintendent Dr. Monika were also present at Chowari among others.
