The job fair convened under Ghar Ghar Rozgar initiative of Punjab government at Shiv Shakti Group of Colleges at Bhikhi today drew a large number of youngsters who thronged the venue looking for job opportunities.Chief guest of the event Deputy Commissioner Mansa Mrs Apneet Riyait said job fair today saw huge participation of more than 5000 candidates competing for various job. She said that in order to provide employment opportunities to every household in Punjab, the state government had set up District Employment Generation Bureau in every district that are acting as bridge between candidates and companies giving the youngsters proper guidance on job opportunities.She added that today prestigious companies like Maruti Suzuki, Larsen and Toubro. ICICI Bank, HDFC bank. Capital Bank, Sai Enterprises and many others participated in the drive. All the students first reported at reception counter where their forms were filled and they were further sent to respective branches. A large number of school students of senior secondary schools, too had come to participate in the job fair to learn about ways to prepare themselves for future jobs. The entrepreneurs were told about various banking loan schemes available for self employment opportunities.Deputy Commissioner added that the job fair held Sep 19 at Royal Group of Colleges on Sep 19 had saw massive participation of 5825 candidates. Out of these 4615 were interviewed and 3018 were selected. Of the 3018 selected, 2113 were males and 905 were females. Total 1597 candidates were rejected. The Deputy Commissioner added that besides this 303 candidates were identified for self employment and 71 were identified who want to get training in different skills.The aspirants can register themselves on the portal of government www.ghargharrozgar.punjab.gov.in or can register themselves at district employment bureau Mansa located on the first floor of Sewa Kendra in district administrative complex. Aspirants can also call at the land line number 01652-232315 for further details.SDM Mans Mr Abhijeet Kaplish, Som Nath Mehta  from Shiv Shakti Group of Colleges, district employment generation officer Major Harpreet Singh (retd) and others were also present.
