“Over ten thousand patients got the treatment services just in 1 month under the ‘Sarbat Sehat Bima Yojna’. The pro-people Scheme was launched by the Chief Minister  Punjab Captain Amarinder Singh to cover 45.89 lac families of State in view to provide quality and free of cost secondary as well as tertiary healthcare services.”Giving  these details here today, the Health and Family Welfare Minister Mr. Balbir Singh Sidhu said that 10,284 patients have been admitted in the hospitals to get treatment  under Sarbat Sehat bima Yojna till 21 September and benefits of over Rs. 12.5 crore have been given to these patients. He said that this flagship scheme was launched  by Captain Amarinder Singh on 20th August in which health services up to Rs. 5 lac are being provided to all members of eligible families at empanelled private &  government hospitals.  He said that Captian Amarinder Singh led Punjab Government is undertaking every effort to make Punjab a leading player in the health care  sector.The Health Minister further said that to verify the name and other information, anyone can go to the official website of health scheme at www.shapunjab.in He  said that besides this, eligible beneficiary should visit nearest Common Service Centre (CSC) to get e-card or should contact Arogya Mitra in empanelled hospitals. He  added that these common service centres have been authorized to issue per e-card at the cost of only Rs. 30. He said that if any CSC charges more than fixed amount  the people can lodge their complaint at the office of civil surgeon of respective area or at helpline number 104.Mr Balbir Singh Sidhu also divulged that more than 28 lac  e-cards have been issued so far and the process is still going on war footing. He said that families covered under Socio economic caste based census 2011, Smart  Rashan Card Holders, J-Farm Card Holders, Small traders, Small and marginal Farmers and Yellow Card Holders & Accredited Journalists have been included in this  scheme.  He disclosed that this scheme is operational in 472 hospitals and healthcare facilities of 1396 health packages are being provided to the beneficiaries.The Minister further said that with help of National Health Authority, State Health Agency had imparted the training to all empanelled hospitals to explain all aspects of  Sarbat Sehat Bima Yojna. He also elaborated that Arogya Mitras have been deputed in all hospitals to ensure the free of cost treatment to the patients in hospitals.
