Deputy Commissioner, Sushma Chauhan today inspected progress on mega projects during an extensive tour of Jammu city and its peripheries.Accompanied by a team of officers including SDM North Satish Kumar Sharma, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Vijay Kumar Sharma and engineers, the DC took stock of work on Jammu- Akhnoor four lane, Ring Road, Kote Bhalwal 100-bedded Hospital, Old age Home and many others. Inspecting progress on Old Age Home coming up at Kote Bhalwal, the Deputy Commissioner was told that one of the proposed four block complexes is nearing completion, while the work on other three buildings is at initial stages.It was informed that project will have separate buildings for Old age men and women besides two orphanages for male and female children.The building for the old-age men is nearing completion even as the building for women destitute is at foundation laying stage, the DC was told.
During her visit to the site of Kote Bhalwal Sub District Hospital, the DC was informed that the structure of the building is complete and finishing work is on.Taking stock of pace of work on the Jammu- Akhnoor road project, the DC was briefed about the issues hampering the pace of work on different sections of the road.She asked the concerned departments to coordinate in removing bottlenecks including shifting of remaining water supply pipes, electric towers and other installations.The DC also directed the executing agency to ensure maintenance of the existing thoroughfare for smooth movement of traffic.Later, the DC also inspected the progress of work on Jammu ring road project. She inquired about the portion of road completed so far and assured to resolve bottlenecks, if any.
