Secretary Agriculture Production Department, Manzoor Ahmad Lone today chaired a meeting to review the functioning of Agriculture and Horticulture sectors. The meeting was attended by Director Agriculture Kashmir, Syed Altaf Aijaz Andrabi, Director Horticulture Kashmir Aijaz Ahmad Bhat, Special Secretary Agriculture Production. Ravinder Sadhoo, Director Sericulture J&K, Riyaz Ahmad, Director Command Area Haroon Malik, Director Planning APD, officers from Horticulture P&M /HPMC and senior officers from APD.On the occasion, Secretary reviewed the progress on Market Intervention Scheme for procurement of fruits from Kashmir Division through NAFED and instructed the officers to gear up the field functionaries so that the fruit growers are benefited to sell their produce in the designated Mandies. It was informed, that 90 MTs of Apple have been procured so far through NAFED and the procurement process is under progress.In the meeting district wise status of all the nine (09) centrally sponsored schemes which are in force in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh was sought and district wise distribution of funds and progress of all the schemes was also reviewed and concerned officers were directed to furnish the detailed information to APD within a shortest possible time.Lone instructed the officers to submit the detailed liabilities and assets, staff strength existing and vacancies of J&K and Ladakh.Status of languishing projects in all departments was reviewed during the meeting and stress was given for completing all such projects within stipulated time.The status of NABARD funded projects being executed by the Agriculture department was also reviewed and the meeting was briefed that all such projects would be completed within a stipulated time.Secretary emphasized on officers to provide revised estimates and budget estimates and recurring expenditure separately for J&K and Ladakh.Secretary Agriculture also took a detailed review of centrally sponsored schemes such as PM-Kissan, PM-Mandan Yojna, PM-Asha and other ongoing agriculture and horticulture schemes.
