DC Launches Massive Awareness Drive To Encourage Youth For Participating In Ensuing Six Job Fairs From September 19-30

Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Mr. Varinder Kumar Sharma today launched a massive awareness campaign to motivate the youngsters for participating in ensuing six job fairs during which 12,000 jobs would be offered to the youth by 150 companies.Launching the campaign here at District Administrative Complex, the Deputy Commissioner, accompanied by Additional Deputy Commissioner cum Chief Executive Officer District Bureau of Employment and Enterprise Mr. Kulwant Singh, said that from September 19-30, six job melas would be organized at different venues in the district. He said that on September 19 job mela would be held at Shahpur Campus of CT Polytechnic, on September 21 at Government ITI Mehatpur Road Nakodar, on September 24 at DAVIET Institute, September 26 at DAV University, on September 28 at Lyallpur Khalsa College and on September 30 at District Industries Centre. Mr. Sharma said that to further inform the youth about these melas a mega awareness drive has been started in which pamphlets, posters and other material would be distributed at village level to encourage the youth to participate in these melas being organized by Punjab government led by Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh under ‘Ghar-Ghar Rozgar Mission’.The Deputy Commissioner asked the Education, Health, Industries, Lead Bank, Youth Services, Guardians of Governance (GoGs) and other departments to pull up their socks to disseminate maximum information regarding these melas amongst the youth. He said that these melas were aimed at opening new avenues of jobs for the youth thereby making them an active partner in the socio-economic growth of the country and the state. Mr. Sharma said that besides providing jobs to the youth these melas would also make them self reliant by helping them to open their own business.Speaking on the occasion Additional Deputy Commissioner said that leading companies would be visiting these melas to provide jobs to the unemployed youth. Mr. Kulwant Singh said that unemployed youth who were illiterate, under-matric, matric, 10+2, ITI, diploma holders, Graduates or post graduates could participate in this mela.On the occasion, Deputy Director Employment Mrs. Sunita Kalyan, District Education Officer Mr. Harvinder Pal Singh, District Agriculture Officer Dr. Naazar Singh, Deputy Director Animal Husbandry Dr. Mohinder Pal Bangar, District Head of Guardians of Governance Major General (Retd.) Balwinder Singh and others.
