“The second fortnight of 'Poshan Maah' has started across the state today. The emphasis should be on keeping the momentum going on”.This was disclosed here today in a press communiqué by the Social Security, Women and Child Development Minister Mrs. Aruna Chaudhary who while expressing satisfaction over the first fortnight, directed to give more emphasis on awareness campaign about health and nutrition. The 'Poshan Maah'  is being observed throughout the state from 1st September to 30 September and main aim of this programme is to provide nutritional food to  pregnant women, lactating mothers, adolescent girls and children besides awaring the people about the health and nutritional food.The minister said that as per the schedule chalked out, the prabhat pheris and Panchayat meetings are going to be organized on the health and nutrition at the village/ town level on the first day of third week i.e.16th September.  The Poshan Melas/recipe competitions will be observed at the village/ town levels on 17th, health and nutrition camps will be organized at the block level on 18th, the school based activities to develop the kitchen gardens at the village level/town level on 19th, self help groups meeting on prevention of anemia at village/ town level on 20th and cycling rallies will be held at the village/town level on cleanliness on 21st of September. Likewise farmers club meetings will be held at village/town level on September 23, talk camps for anemia prevention at village/town level on 24th, awareness campaign for adolescent girls at village/town level on 25th, Poshan walk on wash at village/town level on 26th, self help groups meeting on wash at village/town level on 27th, community based event ‘Godhbharai’ at village/town level on 28th and Panchayat meetings at village/town level would be organized on September 30.Mrs. Chaudhary said that Social Security, Women and Child Development, Skills Development, Rural Development and Panchayats, Housing and Urban Development, Youth Services and Sports, School Education, Agriculture, Health and Wellness and Family Welfare and Information and Public Relations Department are working together for implementing this program marching.Renewing her appeal to run the nutrition campaign with zeal of mission, Mrs. Chaudhary asked the officers, employees, accredited social health workers, agricultural societies, self help groups ANMs and Anganwadi to accelerate campaign proactively so that people can be better informed about health and nutrition.
