‘Change’ is the most important challenge faced by the engineers of a developing India. They further being challenged by the changing climate and ever increasing population. Extensive research is being carried out in all engineering disciplines to cope with such emerging challenges. Information and communication technology and Electronics are playing a key role in several initiative such as Digital India, Make in India , Start-up India and Smart Cities. Keeping in view of the rapid transformation and innovation at international level, engineers of our country should be prepared to cope-up with the challanges. This was expressed by Dr. J.K Goswamy from Punjab University Chandigarh on the occasion of international Engineering Day. The function was organized by Pushpa Gujral Science City in collaboration with Rayat Bahra Group of institute at Hoshiarpur Campus.On this Occasion Er. Ritesh Pathak Scientist from Science City Kapurthala said that , every year, 15 September is celebrated as Engineer's Day in the memory of Bharat Ratna awardee Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya. He was an eminent scholar, statesman and Chief engineer.Further He also said Pushpa Gujral Science City is a combination of advancement in Science, Technology, art & Engineering. The main objective of Science City is to attract the budding minds in the field of Engineering.
Every Gallery, exhibits and building of Science City has been designed based on the applications of all Engineering streams. He also discussed the importance of participation of students in the innovative events organized at Science City like Inno-Tech (For Engineering students) and Science Fest (For School students).On this occasion Sh. Gurwinder Singh Bahra Chairman Rayat Bahra of Group institutes said that the development of a country is based on the inventions done by its Engineers in different fields. The technologies developed results in overall empowerment of the Society. He further said that Rayat Bahra Institute of Engineering & Technology is playing an important role in producing young Engineers. Result of innovative model completion : First, second and third prize has been achieved by Rayat Bahra Institute of Engineering & Technology, in this regard Project Model are Tree Watering System, Smart Street and no parking system and Vedic Purify System. St. Soldier Polytichnic College Chabbewal has clinched consolation prize (project Model is Transfer System) Student for Pandit Jagat Ram Polytechnic College, Sarvanand Gri PU Regional Campus and St. Soldier Hoshiarpur participated on this occasion. On this occasion Campus Director Dr. Chander Mohan ,Principal Dr. HPS Dhami, Dr. Harinder Gill , prof Gaurav Prasahar,HOD Mechanical, Dean Academics prof Monica Thakur and Ashni Kumar PRO Science City was also present on this occasion.
