The Punjab State SC Commission has come to the aid of a Kapurthala resident dalit woman who was facing harassment on account of false/frivolous  complaints.Disclosing this here today, the Chairperson of the commission Tejinder Kaur said that Anju Luthra W/o Late Mr. Krishan Gopal, R/o Gali No. 1, Preet  Nagar, Phagwara had complained to the commission that Joginder Pal, Paramjit Kaur and Dipsy of Satnampura (Kapurthala) had been constantly harassing and  defaming her by lodging false complaints against her. All the complaints were found false in the police investigation and the District Attorney had recommended  registration of a case against those lodging false complaints under the SC Act but even after two years, no case was registered by the Kapurthala police.The  Chairperson also said that the probe into the above mentioned matter was handed over to the SC Commission member Mr. Gian Chand Diwali after which a Special  Investigation Team (SIT) was comprising 3 SP rank officers was formed and probe completed.It came out in the probe report that the complaint of Anju Luthra is correct  and acting on it, the commission ordered registration of a case under SC Act against the concerned people to the Kapurthala police which registered a case under  section 182 IPC and section 3(1)(9) of the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocity) Act against Joginder Pal, Paramjit Kaur and Dipsy, all residents of Satnampura (Kapurthala).
