DC launches field work for the seventh economic census

Asks the staff to perform their duty diligently

Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Mr Varinder Kumar Sharma today launched the work of conducting door to door exercise for the seventh Economic Census in the district.Launching the mammoth exercise from the District Administrative Complex here today, the Deputy Commissioner said that this exercise was the most important for chalking out the roadmap for the socio-economic progress of the country and the state. He asked the officers entrusted with the task of carrying out this exercise to ensure that every data was collected properly. Mr Sharma said that it was the need of hour endure that people were benefitted from it.The Deputy Commissioner said that the field work for census has started from today across the country. He said that for the district 480 enumerators along with 115 supervisors have been appointed for Rural areas and 640 enumerators along with 179 supervisors have been appointed for the urban areas. Mr. Sharma said that the seventh economic census would be done through Mobile applications for which staff have been duly trained.The Deputy Commissioner said that a district level committee under his chairmanship has been set up in each district for the successful completion of the census. Mr. Sharma asked all the officers to discharge their duty diligently to make this census a huge success. He appealed those who would be involved in the exercise not only to ensure that they cover all establishments but also obtain accurate data.On the occasion NSO Mr. Umesh Limbu, Mrs Pallavi Srivastav, Mr Gurpreet Singh, Deputy Economic and Census Advisor Mrs. Sunita Paul.
