'Nanak Baghichi', the dense forests on small piece of land, in Fazilka District Court Complex is being developed using Miyawaki technique will be a unique initiative in the district. This green project has been initiated with the untiring efforts of Hon'ble District & Sessions Judge Tarsem Mangla and with full logistic support of district administration under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner Mr. Manpreet Singh Chhatwal. Speaking on the occasion, Hon'ble District and Sessions Judge said that environmental pollution is a serious challenge for entire society and only plants have power to clean our environment by absorbing carbon dioxide and producing lifesaving oxygen gas. "Therefore, it should be the primary  duty of every human being that he should atleast plant a sapling in his life and take care of it", he added.

Tarsem Mangla further said that under this project, a small forest having 550 herbs, shrubs and trees of different species will be developed in the court complex, which will be home for various kinds of bird species. "Thus, this small green pocket will serve as lungs for adjoining locality and also become biodiversity centre to protect flora and fauna of the region", he added. He said that this forestry technique of Japan is very useful at present, when there is shortage of land and under this technique, more plants could be grown in the small pocket of land. He said that plants growth rate will be 10 percent more with this technique and it will 30 percent more dense than the normal forest, which will enhance green cover in the town and is also be useful for the health of soil. "Plants such as Sukhchain, Suhanjana, Seasam, Neem, Jamun, Acacia, Bottle Brush, Arjun, Nsuda, Amaltas, Yellow Kaner and Chandani etc. are being planted in Nanak Baghichi," he added.Mr. Surinder Ahuja, Mr. Girdhari Lal Agarwal, Mr. Vinod Bansal, Mr. Vikram Aditya Ahuja, Mr. Sarj Singh and others from MR Trust are extending their helping hand to increase the green cover of town under this project.
