District Development Commissioner, Budgam, Tariq Hussain Ganai today reviewed the functioning of the health department at a meeting held here and issued necessary instructions to the concerned for further fine-tuning the facilities in the health institutions in the district.The meeting was attended by ADC Budgam, Mushtaq Ahmad Simnani, CMO, Dr Nazeer Ahmad, CPO, Dy. CMO all BMOs and other concerned.DDC informed that two more critical care ambulances will be purchased besides two thyroids testing machines will also be installed at two different health institutions including District Hospital Budgam to provide better health facilities to patients. He further said that 21 vacancies of Para-Medical staff under National Health Mission will be filled up soon in the district. He directed concerned to issue immediate notification for filling up the vacancies.CMO Budgam informed about the status of activities undergoing and services available in the health sector, availability position of equipment/ machinery and staff particularly doctors and para-medics in place, existing shortages, attachments and deployments, status of new PHCs, status of referrals and daily admission of patients at all health centers of the district.In order to ensure proper disposal of medical waste, the DDC directed ADC Budgam to identify required land for establishing of waste incinerator facility in the district.
At the outset, District Health Officer, Dr. AG Raina briefed the meeting about overall functioning of the District Hospital Budgam and apprised the chair on need of putting necessary health machinery including the installation of C.T Scan, Dialysis Centre, ECHO Facility, Colonoscopy and Phaco Machine at the hospital.The concerned BMOs also raised their issues and demanded putting up of health facilities/ gadgets including Digital X-Ray, Ultrasound Doppler, ECG, Physiotherapy Centers , Thyroid Testing machines and hotline electricity connectivity facilities at their respective health centers.After listening to the demands of the BMOs, the DDC ensured that he would take up them with the concerned and ensure early installation of these health facilities in the district.The DDC stressed on punctuality and strict follow up of duty rosters by the staff and instructed all BMO’s to ensure maintenance of discipline including wearing of aprons by doctors. It was also given out that under Ayushman Bharat against the set target, about 52282 deserving beneficiaries have been registered so far and 43255 golden cards have been issued. So far under this programme 1459 patients have benefited through private and government hospitals.The DDC also took stock of vaccination, availability of vaccine material at health institutions. He stressed on providing hassle-free health services to the general public and instructed concerned to ensure curtailment in unnecessary referrals from local health centers.
