While speaking during the state level Teachers Day functions organised here today, Education Minister Suresh Bhardwaj said that the present state government has appointed 6500 teachers during last one and a half year and the process in on to appoint 1500 more teachers in the state.He said that the state government was according top priority to quality and at the same time moral education to the students. He said the government was spending the highest budget on the education sector which reflects the commitment of the government to provide best educational and infrastructural facilities to the students up to the rural areas.The Minister said that Himachal Pradesh has set milestones in the education sector and it was on the second place after Kerala. He added that if the migrant labourers are excluded, then the literacy rate of the state would be more than 96 percent.Remembering the contribution of Dr. S. Radhakrishnan for the nation and the education sector, the Education Minister said that he was an eminent scholar and philosopher. He made a great contribution to Himachal Pradesh as well and the Indian Institute of Advance Study, Shimla was his gift to the state.He also congratulated the teachers who were awarded with the state level Teachers Award and expressed hope that the teaching community would take inspiration from them and contribute their maximum to build a strong nation.
