Sri Anandpur Sahab MP Manish Tewari today visited the flood affected areas of Majri block in the Kharar assembly segment. He was accompanied by senior Congress leader and former Minister Jagmohan Singh Kang and others.Tewari expressed satisfaction over the measures taken by the administration. He took stock of the situation and enquired about the availability of food and other essential commodities including the medicines.The MP appreciated the efforts of the local administration for providing relief and succour to the affected people. Tewari assured people that all their losses will be duly compensated for. He said, the Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh was personally monitoring the situation on day to day basis. Besides, he said, special girdawri will be done to assess the damage to the standing crops so that the farmers will be properly compensated. Responding to various demands of people of the area, Tewari said, he had already chalked out a comprehensive development programme. He said, all the long pending demands will be met in due course of time. He said, he had already started the process and had met several state and central officials including ministers in this regards. Besides, he added, Capt Amarinder was personally keen to develop this area.Among others Jagamohan Singh Kang, former Minister, Rajwinder Kang, Member Zila Parishad, Nindi Bansal, Distt. President, were also present.
