Punjab Housing and Urban Development Minister Sukhbinder Singh Sarkaria on Friday directed the officials of all the departments of Moga district to resolve public grievances on a priority basis.He accompanied by Moga MLA Dr Harjot Kamal, Baghapurana MLA Darshan Singh Brar and Dharamkot MLA Sukhjeet Singh Kaka Lohgarh was chairing a District Grievances Redressal Committee meeting at Deputy Commissioner meeting hall here. Deputy Commissioner Moga Sandeep Hans and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Amarjit Singh Bajwa were also present in the meeting.Before commencing the meeting, Cabinet Minister and present MLAs and officials have observed two minutes silence to pay their respects to the departed former Union Minister Arun Jaitley and Mukerian MLA Rajnish Kumar Babbi.Addressing the meeting, the Cabinet Minister asked the officials to have a positive approach while redressing the grievances of the public that they won’t face any kind of hassle in the government offices. On shifting fire station out the city, Deputy Commissioner informed the Cabinet Minister that the administration has finalised the suitable location for the Fire Station at Focal Point here and after the approval from higher authorities it will be shifted.
Regarding the issue of stray dogs and cattle in the district raised by members, Deputy Commissioner Sandeep Hans said that soon the problem will be sorted out.Regarding the issue of faulty Ludhiana-Moga National Highway raised by a member of Grievances Redressal Committee, Cabinet Minister issued directions to the police officials to register a case against the company, entrusted to construct the highway in case any fatal accident happens due to road undulations or any other faults.MLA Harjot Kamal and Sukhjeet Singh Kaka Lohgarh jointly raised problems being faced by the residents and requested the Cabinet Minister Sukhbinder Singh Sarkaria and officials to redress them at the earliest.On the occasion, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC General) Anita Darshi, ADC Development Rajinder Batra, Assistant Commissioner (General) Lal Vishwas Bains, Sub-Divisional Magistrates (SDMs) including Gurwinder Singh Johal, Mandeep Kaur (Nihal Singh Wala) and Swaranjit Kaur (Baghapurana) and acting Civil Surgeon Moga Dr Arvinder Pal Singh Gill besides other officials, committee members and representatives of various political parties were present.
