NGO adopts two villages for sanitisation in the aftermath of floods

In a humanitarian gesture a NGO today came forward for extending a helping hand to the district administration for complete sanitisation of two marooned village of Shahkot Sub Division.The office bearers of the organisation Sri Satya Sai Sewa Organisation led by Mr Maninder Singh and Advocate Mr Manish Sehgal and today called upon the Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Mr Varinder Kumar Sharma and lauded the efforts being made by administration for flood relief. They said that it would be rare honour for the organisation if the administration would make them a part of the flood relief activities. They said that they would prefer to undertake the work of sanitising any two flood hit villages in the aftermath of floods.Welcoming the noble initiative of the NGO,  the Deputy Commissioner said that this would give a huge reprieve to  residents of the flood hit villages. He said that this step was really laudable as it was the real service of humanity. Mr Sharma assured fulsome support and cooperation to the NGO for this noble cause.Meanwhile it was decided that the NGO would adopt Mehrajwala and Mundi Shehrian village for Sanitising purpose.On the occasion Additional Deputy Commissioner Mr Kulwant Singh, Sub Divisional Magistrates Mr Paramveer Singh and Dr Charumita, Assistant Commissioner Mr Varjeet Walia and others were also present.
