DGP visits Ganderbal, Bandipora; reviews security scenario

Director General of Police Dilbag Singh today visited Ganderbal and Bandipora to review the security scenario in these districts. He was accompanied by IGP Kashmir S.P Pani.During the visit, DGP interacted with the jurisdictional police, CAPF and Army officers and discussed the initiatives taken for the maintenance of law and order in their respective areas. He expressed his satisfaction on the coordinated and effective measures taken for the security of the people.The DGP also reviewed the security on the Srinagar-Ganderbal-Sumbal highway and also interacted with the deployed personnel at different parts along the route.On the occasion, Singh appreciated the police and security personnel for handling law and order situations in a professional manner.At Ganderbal, the DGP chaired a review meeting which was also attended by district SSP Khalil Ahmed Poswal, CAPF officers and other jurisdictional police officers.

Later, he also visited Sumbal and Hajin areas of Bandipora where he also inspected Police Station Hajin and interacted with the police officials and enquired about their welfare. He said that all required initiatives will be taken to ease the hardships of the police personnel.The DGP said that police would have to continue their assistance to the general public in the present situation. He lauded the efforts of police for providing free telephone facilities to the public and easing their problems during the past few days. He said that such assistance should continue for the public in the hour of need.He emphasized upon the police personnel to gear up the drive against crime and drugs. He said that a strict action should be taken against the criminals and the person involved in drug menace.He also said that PHQ is committed for the welfare of martyr’s families and different initiatives have been taken for their benefit.SSP Bandipora Rahul Malik, CO 13-RR Col. Kamal Thapa, Additional SP Aijaz Rasool and other field officers accompanied the DGP during his visit to Bandipora district.
