District Development Commissioner Pulwama Dr Syed Abid Rasheed Shah today convened a meeting to review stock and supply position of essential commodities and functioning of various departments in the district.During the meeting threadbare discussion was held regarding the availability of essential commodities and the progress of various developmental projects undertaken in different sectors .The meeting was informed that 5.20 lakh of HSD and MS is available in the district as on date and all ration sale outlets are functioning normally and are providing essentials to the public. Further during the month of August 28500 quintals of rice and 27000 plus LPG cylinders were distributed among consumers. It was also informed that advance lifting of rice to the tune of 15313 quintals has been dispatched to the sale centres on account of ration supply for the month of September 2019. Further 7579 LPG Cylinders and 48000 litres of Kerosene oil is available as on date in the district . Meanwhile sufficient food grains have been stored for distribution in shia dominated areas of the district in view of holy month of Muhharam .While reviewing the functioning of health sector the meeting was informed that during the month of Aug 69540 patients have been treated ,while as about 750 minor /major surgeries have been conducted.
It was also given out that about 11000 different tests have been conducted during the same period and 144 sessions of dialysis were carried out in the district hospital. It was informed that that all the health institutions are functioning normally and smoothly in the district. While reviewing the function of the horticulture sector it was informed that the peak harvesting season is nearing and elaborate arrangements for transportation of fruits are being put in place and a daily transportation plan has been chalked out. Reviewing the functioning of financial institutions it was intimated that 40 business units of banks are functioning normally and at an average Rs 1.05 crore are dispensed through ATM’s per day in the district.The DDC stressed for elaborate arrangements to be put in place in Shia dominated areas for provision of healthcare , sanitation, drinking water ,electricity ,essential commodities and all related services.The meeting was informed that the all other departments providing essential services like Health,PDD,PHE,Food & Civil Supplies to the people are working normally and are providing services to the common people.Dr. Syed Abid Rasheed emphasised upon the officers to keep close liaison with each other and remain live on public issues to their timely redressal. Besides, Additional Deputy Commissioner Mohd Ashraf Hakak, all district and sectoral officers participated in the meeting.
