The Joint Action Committee (JAC) comprising 12 different associations of Unaided Colleges of Punjab has come forward to contribute one day salary of all employees working in its institutions towards Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to provide much-needed relief and succour to the flood stricken families across the state.According to an official spokesperson, the Association also offered that the colleges nearby flood areas can be made as temporary relief camps besides engaging the services of students and staff of these institutions as volunteers to undertake relief and rehabilitation measures.Welcoming the initiative, the Chief Secretary Karan Avtar Singh said that the management of these colleges should tie-up with Deputy Commissioners of the flood affected districts to ensure better coordination and synergy for providing necessary help to the flood affected families in this hour of crisis.A delegation of JAC, on behalf of 1600 unaided colleges, represented by five members included Gurmeet Singh Dhaliwal, Charanjeet Singh Walia, Dr. Anshu Kataria, Rajinder Dhanoa and S.S. Chattha.
