In a major step to assist the SC community for self employment as humble and befitting tribute to Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji on his 550th parkash purab of Guru Nanak Dev Ji , the Punjab Government has decided to grant the easy loans worth Rs. 550 lakh through the Punjab SC corporation.In a meeting to review the implementation of welfare policies by the corporation, the Chairman Mohan Lal Sood along with Director Balwinder Singh Dhaliwal (IAS) said that the Punjab chief minister Captain Amarinder Singh has asked the corporation to speed up the efforts to disburse the loan amount to the applicants by organizing special camps across the state as the Punjab Government has already sanctioned the loan amount to the corporation.The chairman said that the corporation would organize the first special camp at Rest house Phagwara on August 27 to grant the loan to applicants and releasing the whole loan amount to the applicants would be made till September 30, 2019. He also asked the District Managers to ensure implement this scheme at all districts in the given time frame.
Talking about the efforts to be made to assist the flood victims belongs to SC community, the Chairman said that the Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh has asked the corporation to provide soft loans to the needy ones on priority alongwith the financial aid to be given by the Punjab Government so that their life should be on track after a massive hit by floods. He asked the officials to reach at flood affected areas as soon as the water level decreased so that a detailed report to be prepared to provide the soft loans to the victims.He also announced that the corporation employees would also donate a one day salary to the chief minister flood relief fund.Taking the serious note of low recovery from the willful defaulters, the chairman said that there should be zero tolerance policy against these kinds of defaulters.Meanwhile the Director of Corporation Balwinder Singh Dhaliwal asked the officials to cover the Safai Karamcharis from Municipal corporations and Municipal councils under the ambit of welfare schemes by the corporation.On the occasion District Welfare Officer Mr Rajinder Singh, Tehsil Welfare Officer Ms Sarabjit Kaur and District Managers from across the state were present in the meeting.
