FIDD, Chandigarh organized a Town Hall meeting for MSME Entrepreneurs on August 23, 2019 in Amritsar, Punjab. The meeting was chaired by Shri Anil K. Sharma, Executive Director, RBI.Smt. RachnaDikshit, Regional Director (Punjab, Haryana & UT Chandigarh), Reserve Bank of India, Chandigarh; Shri Shivdular Singh Dhillon, Deputy Commissioner, Amritsar; Shri Anil Kumar Yadav, General Manager, Reserve Bank of India; Shri J. P. S. Bindra, Chief General Manager, NABARD; Shri Rahul Priyadarshi, General Manager, SIDBI; Shri PranayRanjanDwivedi, Deputy General Manager, SBI and Shri Sanjeev Kumar Dubey, Chairman, Punjab Gramin Bank andrepresentatives of various IndustryAssociations / Trade Bodies and officials of various banks active in the region attended the meeting.About 200 participants from different industries in Amritsar such as Textiles, Engineering Units, Rice Mills units along with bankers and entrepreneurs attended the Town Hall meeting. In addition to this, Assistant Director, MSME – DI; representative from Department of Industries and Commerce, Govt. of Punjab; seniorbankers from Controlling offices and MSME branches of the areaalso attended the Town Hall Meeting.

Executive Director in his address emphasized that the purpose of the Town Hall Meeting was to create awareness about the bank schemes for lending to MSME customers and also resolve the issues between bankers and entrepreneurs by bringing them together in a common platform. He urged the banking fraternity to have an empathetic approach in dealing with the MSME borrowers and provide timely and adequate finance to these units. He advised the bankers to disseminate information regarding various MSME loanproductsto the entrepreneurs.Deputy Commissioner, Amritsar has apprised about the MSME Sector in Amitsar and its contribution in employment generation. He also highlighted the cultural heritage of Amritsar and its importance in tourism industry in Amritsar.Gm, SIDBI has given presentation regarding various schemes operated by SIDBI for the benefit of MSME Sector. During the interactive session, specific queries raised by entrepreneurs were responded to by Shri Anil K. Sharma, Executive Director, RBI; Smt. RachnaDikshit, Regional Director (Punjab, Haryana & UT Chandigarh), Reserve Bank of India, Chandigarh; Shri Shivdular Singh Dhillon, Deputy Commissioner, Amritsar; Shri Anil Kumar Yadav, General Manager, Reserve Bank of India; Shri J. P. S. Bindra, Chief General Manager, NABARD; Shri Rahul Priyadarshi, General Manager, SIDBI; Shri PranayRanjanDwivedi, Deputy General Manager, SBI. Industry Associations lauded the initiatives taken by RBI in promotion of MSMEs in the country.Bankers expressed their willingness to provide full support to the sector.
