Fazilka MLA Davinder Singh Ghubaya today emphasized that with the launching of the Sarbat Sehat Bima Yojana, the Punjab government led by Captain Amarinder Singh has fulfilled its promise to provide quality health services to the people of the state.Addressing the gathering after the live telecast of the state-level launching ceremony of the Sarbat Sehat Bima Yojana here, Mr. Ghubaya said "this scheme was much needed in border district Fazilka as people were unable to get their treatment done due to poverty. He expressed hope that the scheme would prove very useful to the people of the district. While personally thanking Captain Amarinder Singh for the launch of the scheme, he assured the people that their other problems would also be resolved on priority.Deputy Commissioner Fazilka Mr. Manpreet Singh Chhatwal said that around 7,48,050 beneficiaries were registered under the Sarbat Sehat Bima Yojana till 19 August, out of which, 1.23 lakh beneficiaries were registered in Fazilka district alone. He said that about 75 per cent of the total families of the district have been brought under the ambit of the scheme. Congratulating Civil Surgeon and officials of the health department, he said "Sarbat Sehat Bima Yojana will be implemented in true letter and spirit in the district."He said that recently, the state government has made beneficiaries as per the data available with it and the eligible people will be brought under the ambit of the scheme in coming days. He appealed the Civil Surgeon Dr. Daler Singh Multani to ensure that the people of the district could get quality treatment and modern health facilities in government and empanelled private hospitals so that the scheme could be implemented in a meaningful way.

Congress district president Mr. Ranjam Kamra and senior Congress leader Chaudhary Sandeep Jakhar expressed their gratitude towards Captain Amarinder Singh and Health Minister Mr. Balbir Singh Sidhu. They, simultaneously, requested the Deputy Commissioner to erect banners at public places and distribute other promotional materials to sensitize people about the scheme.Meanwhile, Civil Surgeon Dr. Daler Singh Multani apprised that eligible beneficiaries can make their e-cards free of cost in government and empanelled hospitals and by paying Rs.30 in common service centers. He said that treatment of 1396 kind of diseases have been ensured under the scheme. He said that with the annual health insurance of Rs.5 lakh per family, secondary and tertiary level health services will be provided for the general public. Assistant Civil Surgeon Dr. Davinder Kumar Bhukkal said that 1. 91 lakh beneficiary families will benefit in the district.Later, MLA, Deputy Commissioner, Civil Surgeon and Congress leaders have launched the scheme in district by distributing e-cards to the beneficiaries.On this occasion, District Mass Media Officer Mr. Anil Dhamu, senior congress leader Mr. B.D. Kalra, Mr. Raj Bakhash, Block Smiti Member Mr. Pappu Kalra and representatives of various social organizations were present.

Who can take benefit of the scheme?

Families included in socio-economic and caste census, families of small traders, smart ration card holder families, farmer families (J-form holders) and construction workers registered with Punjab Construction Welfare Board would get cashless treatment up to Rs.5 lakh per annum under the scheme. The beneficiary must have Aadhaar or Ration card or PAN number or ID issued by the Labour Department to get benefit under the scheme.

Treatment in all government and 9 private hospitals

According to the civil surgeon, after the launching of the Sarbat Sehat Bima Yojana today, now the beneficiaries would get free treatment of 1396 different diseases in all the government and 9 empanelled private hospitals of the district and this facility is available for all the family members. Nine empanelled private hospitals are Loona Nursing Home Abohar, Nagpal Nursing Home Abohar, Dr. Chalana Eye Hospital Abohar, Sai Hospital and Laparoscopic Surgery Center Abohar, Gupta Hospital Fazilka, Amrit Hospital Fazilka, Chandarvati Hospital Fazilka, Daang Eye Hospital Fazilka and Sukhmanī Eye and Phaco Center Jalalabad, he added.
