Anti Larva Teams Detect 24 Cases Of Dengue Larva

The anti-larva cell of the health department on Monday detected 24 dengue larva cases in various places of the city during its drive against the vector-borne diseases under Tandarust Punjab Mission.Separate teams of anti-larva cell led by Mr Shakti Gopal, Mr Tilak Raj, Mr Pawan Kumar, Mr Ram Parkash, Mr Sher Singh, Mr Gurwinder Singh, Mr Sukhjinder, Mr Rajwinder Singh, Mr Vinod Kumar, Mr Amit Kumar, Mr Raj Kumar, and Mr Kamaldeep carried out special checking in Kailash Nagar, New Gopal Nagar, Karishna Nagar, Adarsh Nagar, Labour Colony, Gurdev Nagar, Gandhi Camp, Surjit Nagar, Bhargo Camp, Avtar Nagar and Abadpura. The teams visited 404 houses covered the population of 1676 and checked 172 desert coolers and 520 waste containers.The teams’ members told the residents that the desert coolers, containers could act as a breeding ground for the mosquitoes to spread diseases like dengue, malaria, and others. They said that the drive was aimed at identifying vulnerable places for producing the larva of mosquitoes. They said that the special inspection was a part of the drive under ‘Tandarust Punjab’s mission to ensure that vector-borne diseases were checked well in advance.
