While addressing a public meeting at Sahu in Chamba today, Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur said that during his two-day visit to Chamba district he inaugurated and laid foundation stones of developmental projects worth Rs 52.50 crores which shows the commitment of the state government for equitable and balanced development of all areas of the State.The Chief Minister thanked the people of Chamba district for providing wholehearted support to the BJP in the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections. He said that the vote share of the BJP was highest in the country and in Kangra Parliamentary seat it was highest in the country with 72 percent vote share. He said that all the opposition leaders were still in shock due to this unprecedented victory of the BJP in the Lok Sabha. This is a befitting reply by the people of the State has given to the arrogant opposition leaders of the State.Jai Ram Thakur said that the one and a half year tenure of the present state government has been full of achievements and accomplishments. He said that Jan Manch programme has emerged as a boon to the people of the State as all their grievances were being redressed at their door steps.

Chief Minister said that the Chamba district has been selected as aspirational district by the Union government for ensuring its overall development.  He said that although a small state, Himachal Pradesh has shown way to all other states of the country in matter of development. But it was unfortunate that the Congress leaders were politicising even the celebrations to mark the 113th birth anniversary of founder of Himachal Pradesh and first Chief Minister Dr Y.S. Parmar, which reflects their desperation for power.Local MLA Pawan Nayar welcomed the Chief Minister and detailed various demands of the area.Earlier, the Chief Minister laid foundation stone of 55 meter span double lane bridge over Sai river on Chamba-Sahu-Kidi road to be constructed at a cost of Rs. 6.31 crore.He also inaugurated community health centre building at Sahu constructed by spending Rs. 4.50 crore and 108 meter span bridge at Balu over Ravi river on Chamba-Tissa road constructed by spending an amount of Rs 11.01 crore.Urban Development Minister Sarveen Chaudhary, Deputy Speaker Hansraj, MLAs Pawan Nayyar, Vikram Jaryal, Jia Lal Kapoor and Jawahar Thakur, District BJP President DS Thakur, Chairman Kangra Central Cooperative Bank Dr Rajiv Bhardwaj and other prominent leaders were present on the occasion.
