First-Ever Women 3X3 Pro Basketball Indian Sub-Continent League Matches will be played on 4th August 2019, Sunday, at Lovely Professional University (LPU) campus. Six teams of women  constituted with top basketball players from across the country are Kochi Stars, Coimbatore Spunkies, Delhi Divas, Jaipur Regals, Ludhiana Queens and Pune Panthers.  Now an Olympic &  Commonwealth Games sport 3x3 Pro Basketball League is going to debut at 2020 Tokyo Olympics & 2022 Birmingham Commonwealth Games as well. India is expected to win medals in these  two top competitions of the world. In all, 18 men-women teams from all across India are competing at sports arena in Baldev Raj Mittal Unipolis at LPU. This is indeed a history creating sports event  at LPU Campus .On first day of the 9 matches for ‘Conference A’, Chandigarh Challengers team was declared final winner by defeating Chennai Icon Team with scores of 21/08. Earlier, both of  these teams had defeated Delhi Hoopers and Aizawal Legends in respective semi-finals with scores of 21/14 and 19/08. Prior to this, in other six matches played Delhi Hoopers defeated Goa  Snipers with 19/17; Aizawal Legends defeated Chandigarh Challengers with17/15; Chennai Icon defeated Goa Snipers with 22/19; Aizawal Legends defeated Bangalore Machas with 17/15; and,  Chandigarh Challengers had defeated Bangalore Machas with scores of 22/07.The day two matches for ‘Conference B’ saw tough competition, best of basketball skills and agility of playing among  the players of teams-Mumbai Heroes; Ahemdabad Wingers; Gurugram Masters; Hyderabad Ballers; Lucknow Tigers; and, Kolkata Warriors.One of the former international basketball player at the  sports arena, and presently Head Coach Punjab Police Basket-Ball Team and Coach Punjab State Team, Inspector Gurkirpal Dhillon shared that the arrangements for the matches at LPU are as per  international norms and this will give great boost to all sportsmen and women at LPU.
