The Punjab Government has taken a decision to implement Single Joint Site Inspection System with regard to various industrial units. The initiative would give major relief to those interested in investing in the State.Disclosing this here today, the Industries and Commerce Minister Mr. Sunder Sham Arora said that from now on, all the requisite permissions regarding various industrial units would be accorded through a Single Joint Site Inspection System in order to save the time and speed up the construction process in the industrial sector. He also said that for the facilitation of the investors the competent authorities would give info in advance before proceeding to inspect the sites and ensure the submission of all inspection  reports within 48 hours.Mr. Arora further divulged that under the system, the site/building plan of site, Fire, Water, Sewerage and Power related inspections would be made in a single day. He also added that automatic computerized risk assessment system has also been put in place for registering the specifications of the building and complete info regarding risk criteria, inspection process and investigation list to ensure transparency. Adding more, he said that the computerized allocation of the inspectors is done in the matter of assigning the job of inspection to the inspectors. A particular inspector can't conduct the inspection of the same building again.  Mr. Arora further elaborated that the Punjab Government is fully committed to create a congenial environment for the industrial sector to prosper in the State. He also said that with the Single Joint Site Inspection System, the industries operating in Punjab would be spared the ordeal of having to undergo knotty process of numerous inspections with regard to seek multiple permissions for construction but the initiative would also be instrumental in saving time when all the inspections would be done in a single day. The minister also exhorted the various industrial associations of the State to put forward their suggestions so as to refine the system.
