Deputy Commissioner Kulwant Singh and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP rural) Navjot Singh Mahal asked the banks to play a proactive role for opening new vistas of self-employment for the skilled youth by extending loans to them besides ensuring the welfare of weaker and underprivileged sections of the society. Addressing the gathering after inaugurating a branch of Syndicate Bank in 120ft road, Basti Danishmandan, they said that the banks must make concerted efforts to extend easy loans to the skilled persons so that they could live life with dignity and pride. They told that such efforts would help in opening new avenues for self-employment for the skilled youth besides boosting the economic growth of the country.  They said that such efforts were the need of the hour to make India a progressive and front-ranking country in the world. They also stated that the banks could play a leading role in transforming the destiny of weaker and underprivileged sections by extending a helping hand to them.

They told that easy loan to this stratum of society would act as a catalyst to ameliorate a lot of poor and disadvantaged sections. They underscored the need to provide these loans at nominal rates which would not only ensure the financial empowerment of the poor. They said that the very intent and purpose behind the concept of nationalization of the banking sector could only be served meaningfully provided the majority of economically deprived sections of society were propelled towards financial inclusion. On the occasion, S Vijay Kumar, General Manager Syndicate Bank Zonal Office Delhi highlighted the achievements of the bank. He said that the bank has been serving the country from last more than 100 years with utmost dedication and commitment.Earlier, Syndicate Bank DGM Regional Officer Ludhiana Mr. Ghanshyam, Senior Manager Mr. Ved Parkash, Branch Manager Mr. Jagdish Lal welcomed the Deputy Commissioner and SSP Rural to the bank.
