The Social Justice, Empowerment and Minority Affairs Minister, Punjab, Sadhu Singh Dharamsot has demanded that the Union Government roll back at once the new proposal pertaining to the Post Matric Scholarship (60:40) in order to ensure the prosperous future of the SC students of Punjab. He emphasized that the future of the SC students can only be saved by reverting back to the old 90:10 formula and stop playing with the future of Punjab SC students.Airing these views while attending the Aryan Scholarship Mela organized here today by the Aryans Group of Colleges, the minister further said that the new scholarship proposal means that the Union Government is running away from its responsibility of bringing the SC students into the National mainstream. He also assured that it would be ensured that the SC students of the State face no problem in getting admission in any of the colleges.During the occasion, the Vice Chancellor of the Punjabi University, Patiala Dr. B. S. Ghuman was present as the Guest of Honour where the function was presided over by the Chairman of the Aryans Group Dr. Anshu Kataria. Dr. B. S. Ghuman while appreciating the initiative of the Aryans Group said that the Aryans is one of the front line institutions out of the 265 under the aegis of the Punjabi University. On the occasion, a special scholarship helpline number was also started for the SC/ST students.
