A high level meeting at Punjab Bhawan was held here today of the committee formed under the stewardship of the three ministers in order to ensure the grand celebrations of the 550th Parkash Purb of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji. The Cooperation Minister S. Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa and Tourism & Cultural Affairs Minister Mr. Charanjit Singh Channi took stock of the entire preparations and reviewed the progress report.Giving details to the mediapersons in the aftermath of the meeting, Both the Cabinet Ministers said that a Circle Style  Kabaddi Cup of International and State level would be held courtesy Punjab Government which would be dedicated to the 550th Parkash Purb. The Cabinet Ministers also added that teams from various countries would be invited for participation in the International Kabaddi Cup whereas in the State level Cup, teams from all the Districts would take part. They further added that a National Institute of Interfaith Studies would also come up at Sri Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar at a cost of Rs. 482 crore. The work with regard to this world class project is in the final stages. They also divulged that admission process for the current session 2019-20 at newly constructed Bebe Nanki Girls College at Sultanpur Lodhi have begun. 

 Mr. Randhawa & Mr. Channi said that as per directions of the Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh, the Punjab government has started development works with Rs 1 crore each in all 70 villages where Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji visited during his lifetime. These development works would be completed by September 30, 2019.  It was also informed during the meeting that plantation drive dedicated to Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji of planting 550 plants in each village is at full swing at 31 lac plants have been planted till date.Prominent  amongst others present in the meeting included, Harpartap Singh Ajnala, Kuljeet Singh Nagra, Balwinder Singh Laadi (All MLAs), Tejvir Singh Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Satish Chandra Additional Chief Secretary Home, Sanjay Kumar Additional Chief Secretary Sports, A. Venu Prasad Principal Secretary Local Government, Seema Jain Principal Secretary Higher Education, Anurag Aggarwal Principal Secretary Health, K Shiva Prasad Principal Secretary Transport, Mr. Vikas Pratap Principal Secretary Culture and Tourism, Mr. Gurkirat Kirpal Singh Special Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, Mr. Hussan Lal Secretary Public Works, Mrs. Jaspreet Talwar Secretary Water Supply and Sanitation, Prof. BS Ghuman Vice Chancellor Punjabi University, Ishwar Singh A.D.G.P.,  Malwinder Singh Jaggi Director Culture and Tourism, Mohammad Tayyab Director General School Education, Jaskiran Singh Director Rural Development and Panchayats, DPS Kharbanda Deputy Commissioner Kapurthala and other senior officers of the various departments.
