The modern day farming is not only about using latest agriculture tools but using minimum irrigation technology for growing crops. Farmers should extensively start using drip irrigation method and go for direct sowing of paddy crop to save precious water. The additional secretary, Ministry of Cooperative Affairs, Government of India Anjali Bhawra said this while interacting  with people during her visit to different villages of Budhlada sub division under Jal Shakti Abhiyaan.She appealed the farmers to follow farming methods that requires lesser usage of water for irrigation and gives higher yield. Methods like drip irrigation and direct sowing of paddy ensure that the crops get water as per requirement only.Addressing farmers at camp held to spread message of saving water at Government High School Gurne Kalan village she said that household level too small efforts can ensure saving water. She called upon people to refrain from running taps while brushing teeth, use buckets and not pipes to wash floors and cars, reuse the waster water from RO plant for purpose of cleaning or washing utensils or watering kitchen garden etc.The GoI team today visited villages Ralla, Khiva Khurd, Gurne Kalan, Chak Bhai Ke ans Dodra where they say works of recharge pits, nurseries, cleaning of ponds, plantation etc.She was accompanied by Mr KK Jhell Deputy secretary Ministry of Social Justice, ADC D Mr Gurmeet Singh Sidhu, NREGA coordinator Mandeep Singh and others.
