The Department of Technical Education and Industrial Training, Punjab has started the daily Bio-metric attendance system for the staff in all the Government Technical Education Institutes of the state. The National Informatics Centre (NIC) has honoured the department for this initiative.Congratulating the officials of the department today, the Technical Education Minister Charanjit Singh Channi said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh, the Punjab Government is spending Rs.100 Crore for the modernisation of all the Government Polytechnic and Industrial Training Institutes. He said this is being done with a purpose to make the Youth of the state skilled and employable as per the present and futuristic needs of the global industry.The Minister said that apart from online Bio-metric attendance of the staff, soon this system would be implemented for all the students of Government Polytechnic colleges and Industrial Training Institutes.The Minister further divulged that soon CCTV Cameras would be installed in all the government technical education institutes which would be connected online with the head office. He said that classrooms and examination halls would be monitored online with the implementation of this system.  The Minister also exhorted all the employees to ensure 100 percent admissions and results in all the government technical educational institutes. He said that good performers would be honoured and non performers would have to face the action.Mr. Narinderpal Singh Lamba, Nodal Officer for implementation of online attendance system in the department, received the award from the National Informatics Centre (NIC) officials.
