Aiming to provide relief to the people from traffic jams, Police, civil and Municipal Administration on Thursday held a meeting to find out the solutions to the traffic problems being faced by the City residents.Presiding over a meeting of District Road Safety Committee here at the District Administrative Complex, the Deputy Commissioner Mr. Varinder Kumar Sharma, Commissioner Municipal Corporation Jalandhar Mr. Diparva Lakra and Deputy Commissioner of Police Mr. Parambir Singh Parmar said that multi-pronged strategy for dealing with this problem is being formulated right from checking the over speeding, illegal encroachments on roads, overloading vehicles, drinking driving.They asked RTA secretary Dr Nayyan Jassal to start the inspections of the school buses before the commencement of the schools after summer vacation along with the officials of child and development department.They added that the very soon, a new project for installing traffic signages and marking of zebra lines, parking lines are going to start soon under Smart City Project.Similarly, during the meeting, the traffic police said that it has organized 199 awareness seminars, in the educational institutions besides it, has issued 809 challans of drinking driving since January 1, 2019.Prominent amongst others present on the occasion included Sub Divisional Magistrates Dr Anupreet Kaur, Ms Shayari Malhotra, RTA secretary Dr. Nayyan Jassal, Joint Commissioner Municipal Corporation Mr. Harcharan Singh,  DPO Mr Amarjeet Singh Bhullar, ADCP Traffic Mr Ashwani Kumar,  ACP Mr Vaibhav Sehgal and others.
